Back in January, Federal dropped the all-new 7mm Backcountry hunting rifle cartridge on the world. It's patented, one-piece, high-strength Peak Alloy case allowed Federal to take the cartridge to magnum pressures without the magnum recoil, pushing 170-grain projectiles to the 3,000 fps mark through a 20-inch barrel. Now, Federal has published official reloading data for the 7mm Backcountry on the brand's info page on the Federal website.
"One of the marvels of Federal’s 7mm Backcountry cartridge is that it’s built with exclusive new materials and technologies, allowing it to perform far beyond conventional ammunition," Federal says. "And it retains that all-so-important ability to be reloaded."
"Shooters can now start handloading the world’s most advanced 7mm cartridge with Federal’s reloading data and recommendations."
7mm Backcountry Reloading Tools
As for reloading tools, Federal says it has recently partnered with several reloading tool and die companies, like Lee, to produce the equipment needed to reload 7mm Backcountry.

Lee Precision's new 7mm Backcountry Micrometer Full Length Die set includes a Full Length Sizing Die, a Universal Flaring Die, a Micrometer Bullet Seating Die, a Universal Shell Holder, a Powder Dipper, and instructions with load data. Lee's Factory Crimp die will also work with the 7mm BC.
