While the standard, and intimidating,Taurus Judge running .410 and .45 Colt shells hasn't gone anywhere, after a brief hiatus of a bit more than five years, the absolutely monstrous Raging Judge has returned! This revolver can handle .45 Colt, 3-inch .410 shotshells, and .454 Casull rounds.

However, the return of the Raging Judge will likely be short lived. "This limited production model marks the bold return of a platform known for its formidable capabilities and unique multi-caliber design," says Taurus, emphasizing that availability will be limited.

The Raging Judge is the definition of a heavy-duty revolver. It has a matte stainless steel finish that's paired with a rubber grip featuring a distinctive red cushioned insert. The Raging Judge has long been a favorite for backwoods protection and various other uses.

Obviously, the big difference between the Raging Judge and the other Judge revolvers is its ability to run the powerful .454 Casull cartridge. That means this revolver can fire a projectile that weighs up to 400 grains generating up to 1,900 foot-pounds on target. That puts even the most powerful .45 Colt loads to shame.

The Raging Judge joins models in the standard Judge line, the Judge Magnum line, the more compact Judge Public Defender, and the Judge Executive Grade. Don't get these models confused with the long-barreled Taurus Raging Hunter, which comes in .454 Casull, .44 Magnum, and .357 Magnum/.38 Special.
The Taurus Judge was first introduced in 2006. The innovative wheelgun was designed to fire .410 shotshells, but the firearm doesn't qualify as a short-barreled shotgun under the National Firearms Act of 1934 thanks to its rifled barrel, which makes it transferrable as a handgun.
