Winchester has released a new addition to its Last Call line of waterfowl shotshells that hit the scene in 2024. Say hello to the new Winchester Last Call Double Shot premium waterfowl shotshells, which pair high-density Tungsten Super Shot (TSS) with plated precision steel shot to deliver an ultra high-performance waterfowl load. The drop comes close on the heels of the release of the new Winchester Final Pass waterfowl loads, which also feature a blend of steel pellets, but not TSS.

The lethal combination of steel and TSS pellets in the new Last Call Double Shot loads provide up to 35% more pellets per shell than traditional steel shot waterfowl loads, according to Winchester. More pellets mean a higher probability for a hit, which means a better chance at a good day in the field.
Double Shot is available of the gate in 12- and 20-gauge loads with a custom blend of #2 1/2 steel shot and #8 or #9 TSS. Winchester says a blend of #BB steel shot and #7 TSS will also be available for hunters chasing geese through flyways.

“This new hybrid load is engineered for waterfowlers who refuse to compromise,” said Kyle Masinelli, senior director of product innovation and strategy for Winchester. “By combining plated precision steel shot with ultra-dense TSS, we’ve created a load that delivers devastating downrange energy, tighter patterns, and lethal penetration even at extended distances. Last Call Double Shot delivers the incredible performance of TSS without the ultra-premium price tag of all TSS shotshell loads.”

The OG Winchester Last Call Shotshells
Winchester launched its all-new TSS Last Call waterfowl loads in late 2024, with TSS pellets that are approximately 2.25-times denser than steel shot. That translates to hunters being able to use smaller shot size but maintaining the same effective range and lethality with much denser patterns.

Better Penetration, Inescapable Patterns
According to Winchester’s rigorous testing, when compared to the equivalent payload of #4 steel in a 30-inch circle at 40 yards, TSS shot-buffered 18G/CC tungsten delivers over 50% more payload energy with 1.6 times greater penetration, creating payloads with 80% more pellets than steel truly maximizes the kill zone. Those numbers are nothing to laugh about…especially if you’re a duck!
Last Call TSS is also harsh-weather-proven with its sealed wad and primer construction.

“For decades, Winchester has been at the forefront of developing the very best products for waterfowl hunters and once again, our team has added a superior product to our portfolio with Last Call,” said Kyle Masinelli, Senior Director of Product Innovation and Strategy.
“Waterfowl hunters who want the best available will certainly see the benefits of this highly effective shotshell and the Winchester brand remains committed to offering products to suit every hunter’s needs to remain the number one choice at duck camps throughout North America.”
