Smith & Wesson, one of America’s most venerable gunmakers, has a solid slate of new firearms for 2025, from rifles to revolvers to semi-auto pistols, there’s a little bit for everyone, including fans of some of S&W’s most classic wheelguns. Let’s take a look.

S&W Model 1854, Now in .357 Magnum

Black & Stainless Models

S&W Model 1854 .357 Magnum Wood Furniture

In 2024, S&W jumped into the lever-action game with the Model 1854 for the first time since the company’s earliest origins producing the Volcanic lever-action pistol and rifle — which were essentially prototypes for the platform that paved the way for the Henry and then the Winchester.

New for this year is the .357 Magnum version of the Model 1854 series, which was introduced chambered in .44 Magnum and soon after in .45 Colt. Now, fans of the 1854 can get it in one of the most popular modern lever gun calibers.

S&W Model 1854 .357 Magnum Polymer Furniture

The .357 Model 1854 is available in two configurations, one with black polymer furniture that features a pair of M-LOK slots at the front of the forend and a stainless-steel finish on the receiver, barrel, and mag tube; or a version with a walnut stock paired with an Armonite finish on the steel parts.

Capacity sits at a respectable 10+1 with a 19.25-inch threaded barrel and full-length tube magazine, which is removable for easy and safe unloading (like a modern Henry). It has a loading port on the right side of the receiver and the rifle comes with a 4.75-inch Picatinny optics rail and an adjustable XS Sights ghost ring rear sight paired with a gold bead front sight.

Smith & Wesson No-Lock Classic Revolvers

It’s about time! Smith & Wesson released a small collection of some of its most revered DA/SA revolvers from the 20th century, without the company’s infamous Internal Locking System (ILS), which it began using on nearly all its revolvers in 2001.

The collection includes throwback versions of the J-frame Model 36, the Model 10 — the most popular handgun of the 20th century with more than 6 million sold, and the K-frame Model 19. Each features a classic blued finish and wood grips as well as the most popular barrel lengths of each model.

Model 36 Classic

The 5-shot J-frame Model 36 Classic is chambered in .38 Special +P, so it can handle all the modern self-defense loads that are out there. It has a 1.88-inch barrel with a fixed-blade front sight, a slot-in-frame rear sight, and a checkered wood grip. This is the classic concealed-carry, old-school detective’s sidearm, with some updated materials for the modern age.

Model 10 Classic

The Model 10 Classic appears to be an homage to the M&P 1905 version of the Model 10 made during and after World War I. The K-frame revolver is a six-shooter, also chambered in .38 Special +P, with a 4-inch barrel, fixed-blade front sight, integral slot-in-frame rear sight, and a set of high-grade Tyler Gun Works walnut grips. It’s a true, large frame, .38 classic.

Model 19 Classic

The more robust Model 19 Classic is also a K-frame but chambered in the farther-reaching .357 Magnum, and as such, it has a 4.25-inch barrel, a red ramp insert front sight and an adjustable black blade rear sight finished off with checkered wood grips.

Smith & Wesson’s New Lipsey’s Exclusive Revolvers

S&W has added two revolvers to its catalog — four models total — as Lipsey’s Exclusive offerings in J-, L-, and N-Frame sizes.

Smith & Wesson Model 632-UC Ti Revolver

Lipseys Exclusive smith and wesson

The J-Frame Model 623-UC Ti definitely focuses on performance and concealed carry. It’s chambered in .32 H&R Mag with a 6-round capacity with a lightweight titanium cylinder paired with an aluminum alloy frame so it’s ultra-lightweight.

The 1.88-inch barrel is topped with a tritium front sight and a black U-notch rear sight. S&W says the Model 632-UC Ti is built with an upgraded endurance package to “improve both performance and durability, and its chamfered charge holes allow for easy loading.”

This new J-Frame is available with either a black frame and silver cylinder or with a silver finish and a black cylinder; both feature a textured synthetic grip.

The other two Lipsey’s exclusive releases are the L-Frame Model 686-Plus and N-Frame Model 629 Mountain Guns. The distinctive features of both revolvers are handsome, high-grade walnut Bear Hug grips from Tyler Gun Works.

The .357 Magnum Model 686 has a stainless-steel finish, a 7-round cylinder, with a 4.13-inch barrel topped with a partridge-style brass bead front sight paired with an adjustable rear sight.

New Smith & Wesson CSX E-Series Semi-Auto Pistols

Smith and wesson CSX eseries pistols

S&W dropped its new micro-compact semi-auto CSX pistol line in January 2022. The new CSX E-Series represents a refinement of its design with a few upgrades and new features, too.

The new pistols have an aluminum alloy frame like the originals. You can now choose from four 9mm configurations with 3.1-inch or 3.6-inch barrels and different capacity packages. Magazines are available with 12-, 15-, and 17-round capacities, as well as 10-rounders for restricted states.

The CSX E-Series pistols come optics-ready with RMS-C/507K footprints. They all also include the company’s ClearSight cut, which diverts gases away from the optic lens for a better sight picture during sustained fire. The E-Series also features a new modular grip adapter that lets users size down the frame for deeper concealment or size it up for better handling and increased capacity. The grip also features interchangeable backstraps

The new guns also have an enhanced trigger with “a light, clean break, improved reset, and straighter pull to the rear to aid in accuracy.” To round things out, all models feature white-dot sights, ambidextrous controls, and a flat-black frame.
