As America celebrates Memorial Day, a day for remembering the men and women who have sacrificed their lives to protect our freedoms, the Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation (GWOTMF) would like to share their mission – to build a memorial to honor all of the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Global War on Terrorism.
This past week, the foundation’s President, Michael “Rod” Rodriguez was on Capitol Hill to advocate on the foundation’s behalf and to kick-off the foundation’s fundraising efforts. The foundation has set an initial fundraising goal of $50 million to build a national memorial that will serve as a symbol of the service and sacrifices made by all who served in our nation’s longest war so that we as a nation may honor, heal, empower and unite all Americans.
The Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation (GWOTMF) is the congressionally-designated nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide the organizing, fundraising and coordinating efforts to build a memorial on the National Mall in Washington D.C. to honor our fallen warriors, United States services members, their families and all those who have served in our nation’s longest war. Through its dedicated efforts, the Foundation seeks to build a tangible symbol of the sacrifices made by our country’s service members and their families.
