I was just about to break the shot when my husband walked in front of me with a towel around his waist. “Hey babe, do we have any more shampoo… what the!!!!”, he exclaimed. Unfortunately for me, he caused me to look up and pull the trigger on the shot. “Dammit, John, you ruined my score,” I muttered back. “Yes, we have plenty in the closet.”

I was a novice+ shooter when I first received the X10 Elite Shooting Performance system from Mantis. I was invited to be on Outdoor Channel’s, American Airgunner Season 3, and without a shooting range nearby, let alone enough acreage to practice outdoors, I knew I needed to get creative to become a better shot.

What was going to help me become better at basics like sight picture, my grip, trigger control, and shot placement — all from ambiguous positions? I mean, it is a competition show! What might ultimately help me become a better shot and feel 100% comfortable behind the trigger?

What I love about this system is that it gives you a daily challenge to compete in. Once you finish that, you can’t help but go down the rabbit hole of the other training options, or drills as they call them, to compete with yourself from the day prior.

Drills include Open Training, Shot Timer, Endurance, Primary Hand Only, Support Hand Only, Hostage Rescue, Cadence Drills, and more. And with Courses like Basic to Elite Marksmanship, and Basic to Elite Combat, I knew I was destined to get better — and all this from a dry fire system that I was able to use in my home.

Note that if you want to use the Mantis X10 system, your gun must have a Picatinny or accessory rail.

All in all, this is an incredible system. This system does track the muzzle however. So when re-racking your gun, you have to maintain awareness to keep your scores intact. This is the only thing we noted during testing that could (perhaps?) be improved.
