Reacher Fans Go 5.11, Forever Fishing Lure Stamps, NWTF Turnout & More

Those who are in tune with the outdoor world should be pleased to know there’s been no shortage of headlines as of late. From a successful NWTF convention to deer season reports to decorated conservation officers, and much more, check out the latest in the outdoor realm.

Reacher fans should be pleased to know that 5.11 Tactical, an innovator of purpose-built apparel, footwear, and gear, recently teamed up with Prime Video to celebrate its highly anticipated third season. The show returns February 20. Now, fans of the series can participate in the sweepstakes and potentially win the 5.11 prize package.

“The enter-to-win Ultimate Gear Giveaway sweepstakes will offer a 5.11 prize package valued at $2,500 that includes some of the latest 5.11 gear and technical apparel inspired by the series as well as a paperback copy of Lee Child’s Persuader, A Jack Reacher Novel,” said 5.11 Tactical. “Entries will be accepted from February 06, 2025, to February 28, 2025.”

Fishermen and outdoorsmen should be excited to know the freshwater fishing lure stamps will be issued on March 13 at 11 a.m. The U.S. Postal Service will issue the lure stamps at Johnny Morris’ Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium in Springfield, Missouri. Some of the nation’s most successful freshwater lures will appear on 20 Forever stamps and will feature five different close-up photographs of five popular designs. Greg Breeding, an art director for USPS, designed the stamps using original photographs by Sarah Cramer Shields.

The NWTF recently concluded its 2025 NWTF Convention and Sport Show. Once again, it was a significant success. From the expansive exhibitor show floor to incredible turkey-calling competitions to awesome auctions and much more, attendees enjoyed a great week. While numbers are still being totaled, it’s expected to be a record crowd.

Federal Ammunition was the title sponsor at the Hunting Heritage Breakfast at the recent NWTF Convention in Nashville, Tennessee. It was also a Gobbler-level sponsor of the overall event. This continues a longstanding tradition of the two organizations working together—we’re talking 42 years!

In a recent announcement, Silencer Central noted it will be named the official silencer retailer of the Precision Rifle Series, which is the premier long-range shooting competition circuit.

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation’s law enforcement chief recently presented five game wardens with recognition for rendering service beyond the normal course of duty. In this event, they worked diligently to protect someone else’s life. They rendered first aid to: victims of an accidental gunshot wound, injuries in a car crash, and saving several individuals from drowning.

“These wardens here today have all gone above and beyond, and most of them have put their life on the line to help somebody else,” Erdman said.
